Vindex LLC, an esports investment and infrastructure company that launched nearly a year ago, has picked up former DLA Piper partner Gina Reif Ilardi as its first-ever general counsel.
A spokeswoman for New York-based Vindex confirmed that Ilardi came aboard in September. She cited Ilardi’s experience handling virtual reality, gaming, and esports initiatives for clients like Red Bull GmbH, Nike Inc., ESPN Inc., Amazon Web Services Inc., and the latter’s subsidiary TwitchTV.
Ilardi’s hire comes a month after Vindex paid an undisclosed sum to acquire the Belong Gaming Arenas brand from U.K. retailer Game Digital PLC. Ilardi didn’t respond to ...
