International gas shipping company Eletson Holdings Inc. accused Reed Smith LLP of conspiring with former company insiders to frustrate a court-approved reorganization plan, saying multiple criminal statutes were violated.
Reed Smith and partner Louis Solomon helped former Eletson officers and directors “engineer an end-run around” governing contracts and federal law to keep control of the company’s fleet of vessels and “sabotage a court-approved Chapter 11 reorganization,” according to an amended complaint filed Tuesday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
