Former Justice Department official John Carlin has joined Paul Weiss in Washington, D.C., the law firm said Tuesday.
Carlin will serve as co-head of the firm’s cybersecurity and data protection practice, as well as a partner in the litigation department, according to Paul Weiss.
Carlin was previously the principal associate deputy attorney general for the Justice Department, a top role under Lisa Monaco, the deputy attorney general. He previously ran the DOJ’s national security division for a stretch in the Obama administration and was a partner at Morrison & Foerster before rejoining the department.
At Paul Weiss, Carlin will work on cyber incident response and preparedness, crisis management, national security issues, and white collar defense and regulatory enforcement, the firm said.
