Julie Kearney joined DLA Piper as a partner in its telecommunications practice in Washington, the firm announced Tuesday.
Kearney joins from the Federal Communications Commission, where she was the first chief of the Space Bureau. At the FCC, she led policy analysis, standards, procedures, and programs regarding the regulation of satellite and space-based communications and activities.
She will also co-chair the firm’s space exploration and innovation practice.
