DLA Piper said it represented New York-based private equity firm Argentum in its investment in UFA Inc., a provider of air traffic control simulation and training software.
No financial details were provided for the investment, the fourth by Argentum’s latest fund--Argentum Capital Partners IV -- which recently held its initial closing, according to a statement.
Burlington, Mass.-based UFA said its clients include air navigation service providers, militaries, universities, and major commercial integrators. It will use the investment to speed product development and technology, including a voice recognition system, image generation software and cloud-based simulation platforms, and to expand customer service.
Daniel Raynor, an Argentum managing partner who will join UFA’s board of directors, said UFA is “well-positioned to capitalize on the increasing need to upgrade aging ATC technology infrastructure, address growing demands for remote and decentralized learning, and automate labor-intensive processes.”
