DLA Piper Drafts Former Baseball Player as Litigation Partner

Will Thompson joined DLA Piper as a partner in its business and commercial litigation practice in San Francisco, the firm announced Tuesday.

Thompson defends clients in complex business litigation, including precedent-setting cases in state and federal courts, and advises on sports litigation matters. He also maintains an oil and gas practice focused on fraud and corporate disputes, the firm said.

Prior to his legal career, he played professional baseball in the San Francisco Giants’ organization.
