Delaware law school graduates may one day have a way to become licensed attorneys without having to take the bar exam, the state’s highest court said Thursday.
In evaluating potential alternatives to the two-day exam, a task force will consider whether participation should be limited to students who commit to public service work, according to a statement. A Delaware Supreme Court order creating the task force cites a two-year apprenticeship in New Hampshire, and similar alternatives have been adopted in Oregon, Washington, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
