Robert Shapiro joined Dechert as a partner in its financial services practice group in Washington, the firm announced Tuesday.
Shapiro joins from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he was assistant chief counsel in the Division of Investment Management. At the SEC, Shapiro oversaw the provision of guidance relating to the Investment Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act.
He advises on regulatory issues, including digital assets, robo-advisers, anti-money laundering, and advisory and compliance matters.
