Telemarketer DDR Media LLC and its technology provider Jornaya defeated a proposed class action alleging they recorded consumers’ interactions with DDR Media websites in violation of the California wiretap law.
Plaintiff Loretta Williams failed to show that Jornaya read or learned the contents of her communications with DDR Media’s snappyrent2own.com website as required for liability under the California Invasion of Privacy Act, Judge Susan Illston of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Wednesday.
