Davis Wright Tremaine Gains SEC Veteran O’Connell as NY Partner

Barry O’Connell has joined Davis Wright Tremaine as a partner in New York, the firm said Tuesday.

O’Connell has led trials involving investment adviser fraud, securities-offering fraud, and broker-dealer audit failures as well as handled insider trading and market manipulation settlements, according to Davis Wright Tremaine.

He served as senior enforcement counsel in the market abuse unit at the US Securities and Exchange Commission. He also served as special assistant US attorney in the Eastern District of New York as a member of the business and securities fraud section during his final year with the SEC, Davis Wright Tremaine said. ...
