Davis Polk’s $25,000 Offer Shows Big Law Hunt for Best Students

Davis Polk & Wardwell offered to pay $25,000 to law students chosen for second-year summer programs in 2027, assuming they serve in government or academia, or at a nonprofit, their previous year.

The program, which Davis Polk announced in a LinkedIn post on Monday, shows the creative approaches law firms are using to try to lure the best talent. The recruiting cycle has sped up as firms launch online applications to target students, often weeks before they have received their first semester grades.
