CVS Pharmacy Customers Drop Suit Over Tracking Software on App

Two consumers dropped their proposed class action alleging CVS Pharmacy Inc. allowed its software provider Quantum Metric Inc. to wiretap their communications in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act.

Ariel Brooks and Nora Borowsky filed a notice of voluntary dismissal Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. They alleged that CVS installed Quantum Metric’s session-replay software on the CVS Pharmacy app, allowing the provider to secretly record the contents of users’ communications without their consent.
