Crypto Exchange OKX Applies for Hong Kong Virtual-Asset License

An arm of crypto exchange OKX has applied for a license in Hong Kong as the city seeks to foster a digital-asset hub.

OKX Hong Kong FinTech Co. applied for a virtual-asset trading platform (VATP) permit on Nov. 16, the Securities and Futures Commission website shows.

“OKX has always been an advocate for progressive regulation, as we believe that the global digital-asset ecosystem of the future will be regulated,” OKX Global Chief Commercial Officer Lennix Lai said.
