Credit Suisse Lawyer Jumped to Barclays Ahead of UBS Deal (1)

Credit Suisse Group AG‘s general counsel for the Americas jumped to Barclays PLC three weeks before an emergency acquisition of the Swiss bank.

Crystal Lalime started Feb. 27 as a regional general counsel and head of investment banking legal at Barclays, according to a person familiar with the matter. She spent almost 18 years at Credit Suisse.

Lalime quit ahead of the March 19 announcement of Credit Suisse’s $3.2 billion fire sale to Swiss rival UBS Group AG in a government-brokered deal designed to stem the fallout in financial markets from the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank.
