Covington Poaches Goodwin Financial Services Leader Kirby

Samantha Kirby joined Covington as a partner in its financial services practice in Boston, the firm announced.

Kirby joins from Goodwin Procter, where she was chair of the firm’s financial services group. She is a strategic adviser to financial institutions, fintechs, other financial services companies, and their boards of directors on M&A and capital markets transactions, corporate governance, SEC reporting, bank chartering, and bank regulatory compliance, Covington said.

Kirby also was appointed co-chair of Covington’s financial services practice, where she will work alongside partner Randy Benjenk.
