Court Dismisses Suit Against Meatpacker JBS Over Climate Impact

A New York court dismissed a suit by the state against JBS SA that alleged the world’s biggest meatpacker misled the public about its environmental impact, though the attorney general’s office said they intend to file an amended complaint.

New York Attorney General Letitia James alleged last February that the Brazilian meat producer had failed to provide a viable plan to meet a widely advertised commitment to reach net zero emissions by 2040 and that it could not feasibly meet such a goal.
