Continued.com User Advances Privacy Suit Over Meta Info Sharing

Continuing-education provider Continued.com LLC must face a proposed class action alleging it disclosed the video-viewing habits of its subscribers to Meta Platforms Inc. in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.

Lead plaintiff Victoria Lovett adequately pleaded that Continued.com disclosed her personally identifiable information as defined under the VPPA, Judge Douglas R. Cole said Thursday for the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Cole granted Continued.com’s motion to dismiss in July after finding that Lovett failed to adequately plead that element of her VPPA claim, but gave her leave to file an amended complaint.
