Constar Financial Services LLC, an Arizona-based business process outsourcing firm, was hit with a class action lawsuit over a recent data breach that exposed sensitive personal information of potentially thousands of individuals.
The complaint, filed Oct. 10 in federal court in Arizona, alleges Constar failed to properly safeguard names, addresses, Social Security numbers and financial data that was accessed and stolen by hackers in a ransomware attack in July 2024. The lead plaintiff, Pennie Roller of South Carolina, claims Constar was negligent in its cybersecurity practices and delayed providing notice of the incident.
