Conservative Judge Says Court Critics ‘Play With Fire’ (1)

A prominent conservative judge condemned threats against the judiciary while promising that courts will keep doing their jobs, as President Donald Trump and his allies attack those who rule against his administration.

Chief Judge William Pryor, a George W. Bush appointee to US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, said at an American Law Institute event in Washington on Tuesday that judicial independence “can appear fragile, especially when judges face threats.”

“Threats do not happen in isolation,” Pryor said.
