A federal judge in Florida denied the Coca-Cola Co.'s bid to bar one of its outside law firms, Paul Hastings, from suing Coke for more than $100 million on behalf of a beverage cooling company.
Coke signed a retainer agreement generally allowing Paul Hastings to take cases that might otherwise present a conflict of interest, Magistrate Judge Robert Norway ruled Monday. The waiver allowed the firm’s lawyers to represent SuperCooler Technologies Inc. in its lawsuit, which accuses Coke of breach of contract.
