Global climate reporting rules were changed Thursday to make them easier to use when countries begin to adopt them.
The International Sustainability Standards Board said the changes were designed to simplify IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures, published in 2023. The rules ask companies to disclose how climate-related events such as flooding from storms could impact their bottom line. More than 30 countries are considering making them mandatory, although none have done so yet.
