Citi Traders Lead MD Promotions in Smallest Class in Five Years

Citigroup Inc. named 276 staff to its most senior role — the lowest number since 2020 — in a cohort led by promotions in its trading division.

The Wall Street bank promoted 55 people to managing director in its markets business, which is led by Andy Morton, as well as 45 in banking, 40 in wealth and 33 in services, it said in a statement Wednesday.

While 49% of the class is from North America, the new managing directors come from 21 countries and two-thirds are multilingual. Women make up just over 28% of the class.
