Pagliuca Says NBA Franchise Values Have Further to Rise (1)

Prices for NBA franchises have further to rise, given that the value of sports media rights are still going up, said Steve Pagliuca, co-owner of the Boston Celtics.

“I don’t think they’ve peaked at all yet,” Pagliuca said in a Bloomberg Television interview Thursday when asked about Mark Cuban’s sale of a majority stake in the National Basketball Association’s Dallas Mavericks for $3.5 billion. “We haven’t really penetrated all the markets. Media rights are still going up.”
