Celebrity divorce attorney Stacy Phillips has just agreed to join Blank Rome, the firm announced.
Phillips, known in Hollywood circles for her role behind a whole host of nasty break-ups, will join the firm on July 1 along with four other attorneys and additional staff.
Over the years, Phillips has represented Bobby Brown in his divorce from Whitney Houston, Corina Villaraigosa in her divorce from Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Darcy LaPier in her child custody battle with Jean Claude Van Damme.
Here she is on Inside Hollywood discussing family feuds, including Alec Baldwin’s divorce from Kim Basinger.

So why would a Big Law firm be interested in Phillips’ practice? If Phillips’ statement on her transition is any indication, the firm will put her to work to boost its pro bono activities and community presence.
“There are two things that excite me most about joining Blank Rome: having the opportunity to collaborate with my new colleagues from coast to coast, and contributing to the Firm’s deep tradition of, and commitment to, pro bono and community service... For me, it’s all about family, and what we do for a living is support families.”
She added:
“Just as each family is unique, so too are their legal needs. As a result, it has become increasingly important to provide our clients with additional resources as they face some of life’s toughest challenges, and the platform that Blank Rome offers us and our clients is second to none. In addition, and equally as important, I am grateful to be able to continue to focus on my civic endeavors and look forward to expanding my efforts at Blank Rome.”

The other lawyers joining Blank Rome with Phillips are partner Kevin Martin and of counsels Marc Lerner and Pauline Martine. All are based in Los Angeles and bring Blank Rome’s matrimonial and family law group to 30 attorneys nationwide.
