CBS Urges Supreme Court Not to Wade Into Podcast Patent Fight

CBS Corp. asked the Supreme Court not to review a decision that upheld the scuttling of a $1.3 million infringement award against the company after an administrative panel invalidated a podcast patent.

The review of an appeals court decision sought by the patent’s owner, Personal Audio LLC, presents too many novel procedural and factual issues, CBS, part of ViacomCBS Inc., said in an opposition brief filed Thursday.
