Carbon Border Tax Meant to Create Level Playing Field, UK Says

The UK pushed back on India’s criticism of its carbon border tax, saying the levy aims to create a level playing field and assure domestic investors their decarbonization efforts won’t be undermined.

The UK’s carbon border tax will ensure highly traded, carbon intensive products from overseas face a comparable carbon price to that paid if the goods were produced in the country, the UK Treasury told Bloomberg Tax.
