Cadwalader Partner Pair Join Greenberg Traurig’s State AG Team

Former Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler and lawyer Stephen Ruckman joined Greenberg Traurig as shareholders in Washington, DC, the firm announced Monday.

Gansler will serve as co-chair of the firm’s nationwide state attorneys general practice. He and Ruckman joined from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where Gansler was partner and Ruckman was counsel.

Gansler’s practice focuses on defending clients against attorney general inquiries in civil lawsuits and regulatory investigations across industries including financial services, health care, pharmaceuticals, insurance, and telecommunications. Ruckman has served as senior policy advisor to the Federal Communications Commission and as assistant attorney general in Maryland.
