Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has bolstered its intellectual property practice by bringing on board 22 lawyers and two patent agents from RatnerPrestia, the firms announced.
By combining with the smaller IP-focused firm, Buchanan increased its IP practice group by 65%, the firm said in its Tuesday release. The RatnerPrestia team is set to join its new firm Jan. 1.
“The addition of this group is a major step in our growth strategy for the firm,” said Joseph Dougherty, Buchanan’s chairman and CEO in the firm’s statement. “It increases our resources to enhance client service and expand relationships.”
