Brown Rudnick Adds Shier, Smith as IP Partners in Washington

Vince Shier and Ryan Smith have joined Brown Rudnick as intellectual property partners in Washington, the firm announced Tuesday.

Shier’s practice includes prosecuting patent applications, representing clients in post-grant proceedings at the US Patent and Trademark Office, and providing advice on patent portfolios, the firm said. He represents clients in the biotech, life sciences, and pharmaceutical fields.

Smith represents entrepreneurs, startups, and Fortune 500 companies on IP transactions in the consumer products, biomedical, chemical, food science, agriculture, life sciences, and medical devices industries.

Shier joins from Haynes and Boone. Smith joins from Dickinson Wright.
