Breast Cancer Patient Advances Hologic Suit Over BioZorb Device

Hologic Inc. can’t shake a woman’s suit alleging the medical device manufacturer failed to warn her breast cancer surgeon about the risks of its radiographic marking device.

The woman identified enough evidence to create a question for trial about whether her doctor would have used Hologic’s BioZorb device had he been notified of the risks associated with it, Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts wrote in a Wednesday order.
