The new head of Blank Rome’s Boston office is facing a suit by a former client, which accuses the lawyer of helping his friend get a big payout from the company despite being fired for misconduct.
Blank Rome’s Josef Volman conspired with James Houston, the ex-general counsel for supply chain operations financier Orbian Corporation, the company said in a federal lawsuit filed in Boston Friday. Volman in his role as lawyer for Orbian allegedly persuaded the company to enter a payment agreement with Houston that later allowed Houston to pocket $800,000.
