Biofuels Lobby Seeks to Come Together for 2025 Tax Fight

Biofuels stakeholders are looking for ways to team up to attract lawmakers’ attention ahead of the 2025 tax debate.

At issue are a set of expiring tax credits and related rules to implement a replacement clean-fuel tax credit that are part of the Democrats’ 2022 tax-and-climate law. Many Republicans have threatened to roll back the Inflation Reduction Act, but groups representing name-brand oil companies and airlines, farmers, and startups agree parts of the law are worth keeping.

Now they’re working to find common ground on the stickiest issues in hopes of agreeing on a pared-down set of asks.
