Big Law Career Draw Falls for Students Since 2020, Firm Says (1)

Law school students are less interested in a Big Law career than they were three years ago, while government and midsize firm work is looking more attractive, according to a report from recruiters Major, Lindsey & Africa.

Thirty-nine percent of students said they prefer a Big Law career, according to the survey of 250 students and young lawyers taken between January and March. In 2020, 59% said they wanted to work at the largest law firms.

Those who want to work at a midsize law firm grew to 23% from 21%, while those who prefer government employment grew to 16% ...
