‘Big Is Bad’ Antitrust Explosion Propels Cadre of Top Law Firms

Fighting large corporate breakups is becoming big business for law firms.

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Davis Polk & Wardwell lead the list of firms representing 10 of the highest market cap companies facing antitrust litigation in the tech, pharmaceutical, and financial sectors, according to a Bloomberg Law analysis.

Those companies—including Amazon, Alphabet Inc., Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Johnson & Johnson, and Eli Lilly—have fought more than 1,200 antitrust cases in federal court since 2007.
