The former director of anticompetitive activity at Lina Khan’s Federal Trade Commission has taken a job co-leading the antitrust practice at Covington & Burling.
Henry Liu rejoined Covington as co-chair of the firm’s antitrust and competition law practice group, the firm announced Monday. Liu comes off a year-and-a-half stint as the FTC’s director of the bureau of competition, where he oversaw the agency’s lawyers investigating and challenging alleged anticompetitive business behavior. During his time at the FTC, Liu’s bureau brought almost 20 merger and business conduct challenges, according to the firm’s statement.
