Ballard Spahr’s public finance practice has left to launch offices for Barnes & Thornburg in Baltimore, Denver, and Phoenix.
The exit of 35 public finance lawyers from Ballard Spahr to Barnes & Thornburg, 25 of whom will be named partner at their new firm, marks one of the largest lateral group moves in recent history. It more than doubles the existing 21-lawyer public finance group at Barnes & Thornburg. The firm is hoping the move will make the practice a national leader in advising private and public entities in financing and infrastructure deals.
