Aaron Gavant has joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner in the finance, insolvency, and restructuring department in Chicago, the law firm said Tuesday.

The former Mayer Brown partner focuses on traditional in-court and out-of-court restructurings as well as special situations within the structured finance space, according to Barnes & Thornburg.

Gavant works with institutional lenders, syndicated bank groups, and other credit and equity on distress scenarios as part of his traditional restructuring practice. He also represents indenture trustees, special servicers, and administrative agents for distress and unique situations as part of his special situation practice, Barnes & Thornburg said.
