BakerHostetler advised private equity firm Blue Point Capital on its acquisition of Transtar Holding Co., an automotive after-market and original equipment seller with an e-commerce platform.
No financial details were disclosed for the transaction, involving two Cleveland-based companies.
Blue Point said Transtar has distributed thousands of branded and proprietary parts to transmission repair shops and other automotive channels worldwide since 1975. Transtar’s e-commerce platform, transend, has improved customer experience by addressing inefficiencies in the driveline and transmission repair market, Blue Point said.
“We look forward to working with the Transtar team to advance their e-commerce segment,” said Blue Point principal Brian Castleberry. “Transtar’s mature data and digital capabilities, coupled with our distinct competencies in data analytics, digital marketing, and customer management, will give the company a strong competitive advantage.”
