Scott Levine joined Baker McKenzie as a tax partner in Washington, the firm announced Tuesday.
Levine advises clients on the tax aspects of corporate transactions, including cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, restructurings, financings, and joint ventures. He also negotiates private letter rulings with the Internal Revenue Service in various tax areas, the firm said.
He joins from the Treasury Department, where he served as deputy assistant secretary for international tax affairs.
