A Baker McKenzie lawyer faces possible sanctions for allegedly recording closing arguments four years ago in a courthouse that barred such tapings.
Peter Salib must show why he should not be sanctioned, Virginia Kendall, chief judge for the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, said Wednesday. Salib was an assistant US attorney in 2021 prosecuting the case in question at the time he allegedly made the recording.
