Baker Botts Taps Weil Oil & Gas Partner Carper to Lead Practice

Cody Carper joined Baker Botts as a partner in its oil and gas practice in Houston, where he will serve as co-chair of the practice, the firm announced Monday.

Carper joins from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he spent nearly three years as a partner. He focuses on acquisitions and divestitures of upstream and midstream assets, energy financings, equity joint ventures, and drilling partnerships, the firm said.

Carper previously had stints at Skadden, Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and Kirkland & Ellis.
