Aviva’s AIG Deal Investigated by UK Antitrust Watchdog

The UK’s antitrust watchdog opened an investigation Aviva Plc’s £460 million ($563 million) purchase of American International Group Inc.’s UK protection business.

The Competition and Markets Authority said on Thursday that it’s inviting comments from any party to help it determine if the deal may “result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the UK for goods or services.”
