As Meta Folds Novi Digital Wallet, Offshoot Adds Legal Talent

Lightspark Group Inc., a Bitcoin payments company formed this year by former Meta Platforms Inc. executive David Marcus, has hired two new lawyers to build out its in-house legal team during a challenging time for decentralized finance.

Jai Massari, a financial technology and financial institutions partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell in Washington, has joined Lightspark as chief legal officer. Lightspark has also landed deputy general counsel Cristina Vasile, who most recently held the same role at the Diem Association, a Meta-backed cryptocurrency venture whose assets were sold off earlier this year to Silvergate Capital Corp., reportedly for $200 million ...
