Armstrong Teasdale Cuts Europe Ties, Closes Pair of US Offices

July 5, 2024, 6:17 PM UTC

Armstrong Teasdale is getting out of Europe as it also reduces its US office footprint.

The firm is ending its relationship with Armstrong Teasdale Ltd., a separate entity providing legal services in London and Dublin, it confirmed Friday. It’s also closing offices in Boston and Salt Lake City, Utah.

“Decisions like these are part of a broader strategy to equip our team to continue to exceed our clients’ expectations in a highly competitive legal market,” an Armstrong Teasdale spokesperson said via email.

The Boston closure comes amid a surge in the city, as Big Law firms invest in new offices to tap healthcare and technology deals. The firm recently lost a four-partner team in Utah to Dentons.

Those two offices will remain open until Sept. 30, after which one lawyer in Salt Lake City and 10 in Boston will need to apply for new jobs, the firm said.

Armstrong Teasdale “will likely no longer have a direct physical presence in the U.K. or Europe” in the coming months, the spokesperson said. The firm plans to continue to serve international clients by leveraging relationships, including with the subsidiary “to ensure seamless delivery of legal services to our clients worldwide,” a spokesperson said.
