Apple Defeats AliveCor’s Watch Tech Antitrust Suit on Appeal (1)

Apple Inc.‘s win in a high profile antitrust battle with medical device company AliveCor Inc. over the Apple Watch’s heart rhythm technology was solidified by a San Francisco-based federal appeals court Thursday.

A three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld a trial court’s decision to toss out the lawsuit alleging Apple illegally blocked AliveCor and other third-party app developers from utilizing the Apple Watch’s heart monitor, closing off competition in the health app market.
