Anti-DEI Group Seeks to Void Hispanic Scholarship Fund Criteria

An anti-affirmative action group is suing a scholarship fund for Latino students over allegations its exclusion of non-Hispanic applicants flouts federal civil rights law.

The suit, filed Wednesday by the American Alliance for Equal Rights, comes as it wages legal battles with a variety of programs it views as being unlawfully discriminatory against certain racial and ethnic minorities. AAER, a legal advocacy group led by conservative activist Edward Blum, sued nonprofits behind a micro-lending program offering interest-free loans to Black-owned small businesses in September.
