Amazon Wins Partial Exit, Transfer of Streaming Patent Lawsuit

A Virginia federal judge dismissed Amazon.com Inc. from Audio Pod IP LLC’s case over patented content-streaming technology and transferred the remaining claims, including those against Amazon’s cloud-computing unit, to New Jersey.

Judge Roderick C. Young granted Amazon’s request for dismissal from the consolidated case in an order issued Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, allowing Audio Pod to renew or amend its claims against the tech giant.
