Amazon Investors Vote Down Proposals on Treatment of Workers

Amazon.com Inc. shareholders rejected a slate of resolutions seeking more disclosure about the company’s treatment of workers, environmental impact and corporate lobbying, among other topics.

Amazon has long had a reputation as a grueling workplace, and since the start of the pandemic has been under intense pressure from unions, politicians and its own employees to improve working conditions. Four employees spoke up on Wednesday at the company’s annual general meeting, which was held virtually.
