Akin Gump must give a Russian company access to documents and depositions that according to the business would support allegations the law firm successfully advocated to have it sanctioned by the European Union, a judge ruled Friday.
The company, SBK Art LLC, alleges in civil proceedings in Malta and at the General Court of the European Union that Akin aided Pavao Vujnovac, the owner of a Maltese company, in a plan to gain control of a Croatian retailer partly owned by SBK by taking advantage of the EU sanctions system, according to court documents.
