Akin Gump advised private equity firm J.H. Whitney Capital Partners on the sale of its portfolio company Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, a “polished-casual” dining restaurant chain with 56 locations across 20 states.
Kirkland & Ellis advised the buyer, New York-based investment firm Garnett Station Partners, which is also recapitalizing the company, according to a statement. No financial terms were disclosed.
Based in Connecticut, J.H. Whitney Capital Partners says it bought Firebirds in 2019.
Garnett Station manages around $2 billion in assets. Its investment will allow Firebirds to accelerate its long-term growth and development, the statement said.
